Semi-silica brick Semi-silica brick is a refractory material mainly composed of quartz (SiO2) and aluminum silicate (such as clay). The SiO2 content is usually between 65%-75%, which is between silica brick (SiO2 content>93%) and clay brick (lower SiO2 content). Semi-silica bricks are widely used in high temperature industries such as metallurgy, glass, ceramics, etc., such as the lining of blast furnaces, hot blast furnaces, glass kilns and ceramic kilns.
Semi-silica brick features :
1. Good high temperature resistance: semi-silica bricks can remain stable at high temperatures and are suitable for high temperature environments. 2. Strong thermal shock resistance: can withstand rapid temperature changes without cracking or damage.
3. High chemical stability: has good resistance to both acidic and alkaline environments, suitable for a variety of chemical environments.
4. High mechanical strength: has high compressive and flexural strength, can withstand mechanical stress.
5. Moderate thermal conductivity: thermal conductivity is between high alumina bricks and silica bricks, suitable for occasions requiring medium thermal conductivity.
6. Strong resistance to slag erosion: can effectively resist slag erosion and extend service life.
7. Low cost: compared with high alumina bricks and silica bricks, semi-silica bricks have more advantages in price and high cost performance.
